Am i lactose intolerent?

I have a hard time swallowing like lawl my throat is dry. I have itchy eyes and itchy nose. My skin itches also.
I get cramps and some times ear aches or are they headaches. This is all when i drink milk.
Answer:
When these happen from drinking milk, then u probably are. But, don't rely on us ByeDr.comers, go see a doctor, incase.
Lactose intolerance is presented as diarrhea, the watery kind after you drink any lactose product. I think what you have is allergy to th e milk proteins. Do not drink any more and go see an allergist, and buy yourself a bottle of Benadryl or Allegra, just in case of emergency. Allergies are tricky, and you have to be prepared
I would say that you are.
Actually not lactose intolerant but sounds like you have a lactose allergy. There IS a difference. Lactose intolerance means your stomach doesn't produce enough lactase enzyme to digest lactose. People who are lactose intolerant typically suffer nausea, diarrhea, and gas as a result. Their symptoms are gastrointestinal in nature. What you have sounds like an allergy to lactose which is also common. Lactose allergy means you are hypersensitive to it and results in the symptoms you are suffering from. Itchy, watery eyes, and swollen throat.
First of all, I only play a doctor on the internet, so the best advice I could give you is to always check with your doctor regarding any symptom that does not decrease or disappear with time!An easy way to see if lactose is the culprit, (your symptoms really do not resemble lactose intolerance) is to pick up a cheapy over the counter bottle of lactase. This is the enzyme that helps your body digest lactose found in dairy products. I use Dairy Ease that I get from the local drug store. Any generic will work. Start off with the lowest amount suggested (prior to eating lacose) and if symptoms continue, increase the dosage. The most common symptoms of lactose intolerance is diarrhea and or stomach cramping. Depending on your level of intolerance it can be cumulative such as having a couple of dairy products a day, to severe where only a little lactose needs to be consumed.Ear aches, headaches, runny eyes and itchy nose or body sounds like an allergic reaction. Lactose intolerance is not an allergy. The hard time swallowing sounds more like you have indigestion, and potentially an ulcer. GERD, gastro intestinal reflux disease, can causel both the pain you described as well as the swallowing problem. There are easy remedies to resolve this, but start out by seeing if it is actually lactose that is causing at least part of your problem.Good luck to you, and whatever the situation is, do not suffer with it, take care of yourself please.Hugs,
Theresa
I've been lactose intolerant for a long time, and i've never had itchy eyes %26 nose, dry/swollen throat. that's classic allergic reaction. so you're probably allergic to milk, not just intolerant of the lactose sugar in milk.if you want to test it, you can buy "lactaid" milk (Lactaid brand or generic) where the lactose has been broken down already, and see if the cramps go away but the itchiness stays.unless you feel like the allergic reaction is severe and dangerous (trouble breathing, heart racing, etc.), experiment a little and see if you can narrow it down before seeing your doc. try lactaid milk. try soy milk ("silk" brand is pretty good). try cheese. try yogurt. try ice cream.i've found that when I talk to doctors about allergy type things for either myself of my two toddler boys, they can diagnose better if you present them what you have tried and how you felt. maybe if they see you've narrowed it down a little, then maybe they'll order up an allergy screen.
Your body is singling that you are allergic, you have been lucky so far. Not to scare you, but like I said your body is telling you something, you need to go to the doctors for him to get you an allergist. Don't drink anymore milk until you find out, because next time you may not be so lucky. Also...Keep a close watch on how you feel when you eat eggs, and cheese etc. I'm allergic ( severely) to penicillin, and since I have had a real emergency with it, I find I can not tolerate cheese, milk, yogurt, and ice cream. Check with your doctor A.S.A.P.Good health to you!
