Am i depressed? anemic(im a vegetarian)? or just stressed?

im almost sixteen years old, i feel down a lot of the time, before i use to love being with my boyfriend he was the excitement in my life, now i know i still love him but i just dont care to hang out with him as much. i feel weak, sleepy all the time, but then i have trouble sleeping, im so nervous about school because im scared im going to get left back. i feel like i have no friends, im not happy with myself, im not too hapy with my weight, i think sometimes i try to be someone im not because i think thatll make me more cool, and maybe ill get more friends? idk whats wrong with me, i went to the doctor today, and im going to get blood tests, but she thinks its psychosematic. i feel light headed a lot, i feel numbness in my face at least one point everyday. i dont feel like commiting suicide but im sad a lot of the time, when im with "friends" or someone i pretend im happy and maybe i am, but when im alone im just down. im so scared that im depressed or somethings seriously wrong.
Answer:
well im iron deficient and you kind of sound like you are b/c feeling weak and have having trouble w/ sleep are symptoms of that. not being happy with yourself and not having as much interest in spending time with your b/f kind of sounds like depression. and also having trouble with being someone your not and worrying about school sound like stress to me, b/c i just turned 16 and i have these problems too, so it sounds like you may have all three. i think if you get a blood test done that will tell u if your anemic. they will prolly give you some pills to take b/c that is what they did w/ me. i would try to eat more spinach and drink orange juice because they have iron and help with iron absorption. this may sound kinda dumb, but if you eat hot pockets- the five cheese kind, they give you a lot of your daily value of iron. i would try to be less stressed because im 16 and i think a lot of people have problems at this time w/ peers and school. so i would just try to be who you are and im sure you make tons of friends =) and i would try my best in school and i think that if you do that then you'll be more happy with yourself. i dont know if youre depressed or not but if things dont get better, i would talk about it with your parents or someone close and maybe discuss seeing a doctor. i hope things get better 4 you and i hope this helps! =)
Only a blood test can tell if you're anemic or iron deficient. Some symptoms include: dizziness or lightheadedness, fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, or lack of endurance during exercise, headache, poor concentration and cognitive ability, desire to chew on ice, irritability, paleness, heart palpitations or rapid heart beat, intolerance to cold, loss of appetite, and/or reduced immunity.Hypoglycemia symptoms are Fatigue, insomnia, mental confusion, anxiety, nervousness, mood swings, faintness, headaches, depression, phobias, heart palpitations, a craving for sweets, cold hands and feet, forgetfulness, dizziness, blurred vision, inner trembling, outbursts of temper, sudden hunger, allergies, and crying spells
Try to figure out the problem and how you are going to deal with it:
1. Take a blood test for anemia. If you can't get one right away, start adding iron to your diet (i dont' like red meat but I eat it once in awhile). cheerios, nuts, some veggie burgers and soy have iron, or take a multivitamin with iron
2. Journal or talk to someone about your problems. Also find something stress relieving like walking the dog, riding a bike, reading, listening to music, etc. Try to spend an hour a day just for yourself to be stress-free
3. Plan well for your life: make decisions ahead of time so that you're not unappy. Plan things that you like to do and do them. Stay with your schoolwork even if school makes you nervous. Just do the best you can to stay on top and it won't seem overwhealming
4. If you are depressed, seek counsel...talk to a guidance counselor or go see a psychologist.
5. Try to meet people that you are comfortable around: they should not be people that you feel selfconscious around, or that you must be false around. Go somewhere new like a school club or sport, (even if you're not athlete, sometimes teams need assistant coaches or managers and you'd have things to do and people to meet).
6. Its okay to be depressed, just try to get past it though. Try to get help, and also try to do the things you enjoy doing. Get plenty of rest if you're stressed, but also try to be active, as this will give you more energy.
7. Set goals and meet them. Figure out something you want to do, and do it. Giving yourself things to do and plan for will help you get more exciting and energetic
Stress can arise for a variety of reasons. Any change in our lives can be stressful. In dealing with stress, the lifestyle needs a complete overhaul. We should be placed on an optimum diet, and take regular exercise and adequate rest. Check out http://sumiram2006-stressfree.blogspot.c... for more info.
