Any certain food I should be eating to clear up my pimples?.?

Could you tell me why those particular food are good for the skin? Thanks heaps!!
Answer:
Wash your face twice a day. Also try not to touch your face most of the time it's the oil and drit from you hands.
No Fried Food! Try Avenno
take a multi vitamin, biotin, and loads of water. also eat lots of spinach, and fruits.
Please eat food with plenty of fruits, especially bananas.
You can avoid oily food like meat and sweets too.
However pimples really occur during your teens so no matter what food you eat or avoid they will only persist.
One way of you minimizing them is through balance diet and rest. Sometimes it is better to leave your pimples as
they are.
Remember you are what you eat. So if you like fries and shakes it could be why you break out.
Just eat lots of veggies, protein and drink lots of water.Take vitamins a and e.Find a pure and natural regime and stick to it twice a day every day.
Candy puts a big fat white head on my noggin. So, perhaps lay low on the sweets.I have read the answers from the others answering you and they seem pretty accurate. However, do not drink "loads" of water as someone said, unless exercising or in a dehydrated state. Too much water is bad for your heart.
Mix lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in equal quantities. Apply daily before retiring to bed. Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/... for more useful info.

Any body who knows the remedy for diabetic, please let me know?

Answer:
My husband was diagnoised as being diabetic about 1 1/2 years ago. He was put on actoes and metformin(sp). He had to check his blood two to three times a day. We cut out 90% of all sugar. He uses splenda. He started taking an over the counter diabetic viatmin called multibetic, he also lost 60 pounds right about the time he was diagnoised. He continued to take the prescription medication and the multibetic religiously. About 1 month to 2 months after starting to take the multibetic we had a big scare his sugar dropped extremely low (he had high sugar levels in the 300 range). WE called the doctor and started cutting down on his prescription meds. We finally cut out all of his prescription medications and he now only takes the multibetic. His sugar levels are now perfect. He continues to use the splenda and the multibetic. and is no longer diabetic in the doctors eyes.
Insulin prescribed by your physician and sugar-free diet.
Don't eat a lot of sugar?
See a doctor for your case. Another good alternative is to take bitter gourd supplements. Works for some.
I read testimonials at this website that said they're product helped someone with diabetes. Http://www.amazonthunder.com
I personally do not have diabetes but a few friends of mine do and they started using a suppliment and found huge results with it. You can get it here. http://www.optimumdiabetics.com/?aid=325...
They have a free trial and money back guarantee.
There really is no remedy for diabetes. Proper diet and exercises will help keep the blood sugar levels lower. If your Physician has prescribed medication, you should take it as directed. Some people don't have to take medication, they can control the blood sugar levels with diet.
Stay away from refined sugars, limit carbohydrates, add fiber to the diet. If you have a physician, contact their office, they can send you information on proper diet and food exchanges, or some will even recommend you see a nutritionist.
Take care of yourself.
Yep! I am a Nutritionist Consultant. contact me. it is caused from eating wrong foods. We are helping a lot of people
there is no easy answer here. If you are a type 1 diabetic the only answer is insulin for life and a rigidly controlled regime of diet and exercise. If you are type 2 you can control your blood sugar with diet and exercise.Have your blood tested.

Any body please tell me the perfect solution to the damned dandruff as i am suffering it over 3 years ?

Answer:
use a ketoconizol containing shampoo..buddy!!
try using headn sholders its suits perfect
Try Kemi oil to keep your scalp from getting irritated.
I had this problem and a dermatologist recommened Nizoral 2% shampoo. Its only available at a pharmacy and its in a red bottle. Back of pack says to leave it in for 2-3 mins I think but the derm said to leave it in for 10mins. Works wonders. I have tried all the other antidandruff shampoos on the market (head and shoulders (zinc pyrithione), selsun (selenium sulphide) neutogena t-gel (tar) etc...) and this is the best one. Active ingrediant is ketoconazole so ask the pharmacist if you cant find it.
Good luck
I don't know if I can find you a 'perfect' solution, as everyone is different. But these are my suggestions.Don't wash your hair too often, and when you do, use a mild shampoo (one that says 'frequent wash' or similar, and preferably without lots of chemicals - Simple do one without scents etc). Before you wash your hair - a couple of hours before or, ideally, overnight - rub in almond oil with a few drops of whatever you can find of the following: wheat germ oil, juniper oil, jojoba oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, chamomile oil. I think the rosemary oil is probably particularly good, but all of the above are in the wonderful scalp oil which the Body Shop used to make but have, for some obscure reason, stopped doing. If you're doing it overnight, which is great, then put a towel over your pillow. Make sure the oil is rubbed right in to your scalp. Then wash off in the morning (or a few hours later) - you may need to do two washes. This worked for me vastly better than proprietory dandruff shampoos. Do this once or twice a week initially - things should begin to clear and you can then just do this once a month or so. You'll find what works for you.
Try using head 'n shoulders intensive solutions. Nine out of ten dermatologist recommend it.
Yeah, I agree with chirayu m but if that doesnt work try Selsun. Its smells kinda weird but it works for skin conditions like dandruff.Just dont get it in your eyes. It burns.
head and shoulders shampoo? or thers this tar shampoo that an aquantance used and it worked. I have no experience w/ head and shoulders.
well some home remedies ... which work ...
curd...methi powder[in hindhi we call]..i think fenugreek.
n lime add n apply on head everyweek for 4 weeks n then if it still doesnt go rub lime directly on head for 5 min .n then after itching starts ...apply curd to head ... stay for 15 20 min .then head bath.
bath with nizoral 2 percent .. may loosen scalp hair ..
do not comb on wet hair . towel dry .. dont move out of house to dust enviroment in wet hair condition ...
use conditioner after shampooing . use soap nut to wash hai r.. shikakai laso removes dandruff.

Any advice/tips on multiple sclerosis effective herbal treatments? cure?

a family member just found out that they have multiple sclerosis and I was hoping to gets some advice or tip from people living with MS or someone who deals with it this first hand. Please as many tips as possible this person is very close to me. Is their anything I can do?
Answer:
There are no effective herbal treatments for MS. Go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society website and educate yourself. Everybody's case is different and must be handled separately.
Go off dairy products and any artifical sweeteners immediately. These things can attack the myelin sheath and expose the nerves. Going off these things helped me enormously. That includes soda drinks with artificial sweetners.
Many people with MS take one of the CRAB drugs (copaxin-rebif-avonex-betaseri... Many people find these drugs very helpful - I have MS (was diagnosed 14 years ago) and I have Solumedrol IV infusions every 6 months.I have heard many people say bee sting therapy is very effective for treating MS - I'm allergic to bees so that one is out for me too. There is no cure for MS just yet - but I think (hope) they are getting close.
The best thing you can do for this person is listen if they need to talk and understand if they act a bit odd for a while. Accepting that she has MS is the hard part and can take some time to come to terms with.
The very best thing you can do to help this family member is to learn the FACTS of this disease. Read up on it at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Ask your family person with MS if they would like you to sign them up for their magazines, free materials, The NMSS offers a free weekly series, the name alludes me right this second, for newly diagnosed patients - it is a WONDERFUL series. After you learn all the facts and he/she is receptive to your continuous research, then find out what alternatives might exist. As an MSer, I would NOT be receptive to family or friend who came and told me about bee therapy or snake venom or any pill. My advice!
Take any herbal treaments, put them down and walk about 84 feet away from them in any direction.Your best option is simply try and have a healthy diet. Also discuss MS therapy options with a good Neurologist.Everybody says pretty much everything causes some sort of horrible disease and yet the proof is missing. There is not one human on this planet that even knows what CAUSES MS. When they finally know that, then and only then, we can start looking for a cure.In the meantime try and find a good Neurologist nearby you or an MS Treament Center. http://www.clams.org/goodocs.html...What we know is little, but it's still what we know. Anything herbal or "natural" is simply just a guess.
They need to be on a medical regime. Only approved medications are known to help with MS symptoms. Some people take extra B12 to help with fatigue. Someone with MS needs to be on one of the approved drugs to help slow or halt the progression.
Stress is one thing that triggers the onset of a MS attack, therefore, people with MS have to keep there stress levels low. Meditation and yoga and deep breathing exercises can help. Also have to keep out of exteme heat. Many people with MS have reported getting a ms attack after a hot shower/or weather. During heat, always carry a wet cold towel around your neck. Chiropractic adjustments have shown to alleviate some of the attacks. There is no actual herbs that treat or cure, but if I was to suggest one thing would be vitamin B12(sublinguals). Oh, also people with MS have to get plenty of rest and sleep.

Any advice on Natural Remedies for Seasonal Allergies..I'm fed up with regular prescription Medication?

Answer:
I have 2 great answers for you:1. Do what my brother did and ask your doctor how you can use bee hive honey (or whatever you call that other stuff that tastes like stronger honey) for seasonal allergies. He had allergies worse than anyone I've ever seen. It got so bad, it made him even change colleges once. This honey stuff worked - permanently! 2. I just saw on Oprah (check her site for directions) how 2 people on her show used a "nettie pot" ( I don't know how this is spelled - sorry) and months later, these randomly picked individuals had no allergies whatsoever after lifelong suffering. Viola! Good luck
I've had good experiences with homeopathic remedies; the only drawback is they don't tend to last very long so you have to take the pills often (like every half hour).
Hello, I saw a episode of Oprah when Dr.Oz was on...He was talking about this thing called the "Neti Pot"...It works buy putting warm water in it %26 sqeezing it up your nose to clear everything...I guess some people had very great results after years of allergies..I'm not sure where to get one but maybe if you read on it %26 google it you can find one...Heres the link of that episode %26 a little info
DEAR,MY WIFE SUFFERED WITH THESE REACTIONS FOR LONG TIME. I WILL ADVISE YOU TO DO YOGA EVERY DAY. THERE IS NO MEDICINE ON THIS EARTH TO ROOT OUT THE CAUSE OF ALLERGIES EXCEPT THE YOGA. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY MY NEXT POST I WILL POST TODAY.
Yup, there's a good one called Nutrilite ClearGuard. It's totally all-natural and it works rigjht away. You can get it online at
www.summitventures.wwdb.biz. The access code is "summit" if you're in canada or "summitusa" if you're in the states. You have to surf aruond the website for it. I think it's under Edibles and then you click Nutrilite. Should be there. It's the only thing that worked for me and i was just totally sick of prescription stuff. Good Luck!

Any advice on how to cope with Tinnitus?

I have had Tinnitus for years but just lately it has become very loud %26 very stressful. I would love any tips on how to cope with it. Thanks.
Answer:
Depends on how bad it is, I guess. I have had it for 20 years or more. The doctor told me that mine was due to damage from listening to all that good rock with heavy bass at high volume with headphones. Yeah, baby! Rock on! Hearing aides would take mine away, but I don't have the $1200 to fork out. Also, the intensity for me varies from day to day. I will be interested in all the answers you get.
I have had ringing in my ears for years. I just had my adenoids removed last week, and it stopped immediately! See your ENT!
it can be caused by many reasons, it is better to see a doctor instead of asking for tipsand no one can diagnose what you have on the internet, eithertheir methods may not suit you at all
Same as you, have had it at a low level for years. Is your problem getting to sleep? If so, headphones and white noise/quiet music work, but you will need somebody to remove them when you are asleep.
Horrible, is't it? Best of luck.
You can take this medication called betahistine - it helps with Meniere's Disease which causes tinnitus. It's a prescription drug - get it from your doctor.
Alternatively - gingko bibloba may help in increasing blood flow to the brain and less tinnitus? It doesn't hurt to try.
My mother had tinnitus for over a year and the chiropractor sorted it out easy, it was a vertebrae irritating a nerve in her neck that was then causing the tinnitus.
Try taking Ginko Biloba for a while. It helps me a lot.
There is much good advice on here. However, if you have problems getting to sleep at night, get yourself a noisy clock (the tick tick type) which will provide a distrction that you'll soon get used to, that will completely distract your mind from the whistling.
Mine's from working in live music venues, but its a dull hum that is tolerable. I also have heard of meds or herbals that help.
Hydrate urself. This is how to do it. Add 1/4 tsp sea salt to 1 quart of water. Take 24 ounces upon waking up in the morning, 16 ounces half hr nefore meals, 16 ounces 2 and a half hr after meals and 24 ounces at bedtime. Hydration will rejuvenate ur nerves and correct ur tinnitus.Avoid coffee, tea, soda, alcoholic beverages and chocolates. They will dehydrate U very much. Take high dose Vit B complex daily until tinnitus resolves.

Any advice on fibromialgia and what medication do you use?

Does anyone know the website where they do a survey of people voting how effective a certain medication is?
Answer:
uh? doc 2 ? fibromyalgia is NOT a disease! it is a SYMPTOM. so with that being said, maybe you should go back to school?firbromyalgia is a symptom of a disease, whether past or present (some diseases go into remission and can reactivate affecting your soft tissues and bone).most doctors try to commonly test for diseases where it is more pronounced as a symptom, but never think to link the fibro pain with diseases like hepatitis c for instance.your best bet is really not to take anything at all. eat a better well balanced diet-cut out all junk-meaning frozen prepaired foods. go as fresh as you can and make sure you rinse your veggies and fruits well. refrain from chemically altered foods-chemicals can add to your issue. this includes ALL fake sugars. gotta have a sweet? try stevia. (gnc stores).if your not prone to panic attacks, drink coffee and tea with caffiene, green is better than regular teas.last but not least, i have not known many folks under the care of a pain specialist to feel all that different-probably because the medications are chemically made. good luck!
Chicken **** would be as good as anything for this new poorly defined ?disease. It falls in with ch fatigue syndrome, Gulf war syndrome and other poorly defined conditions lacking definite physical or lab findings.
Fibro is a interesting condition, rather than a disease. It usually starts with pain, due to inflammation of the muscles. That pain leads to sleep pattern problems, the person does not go into the REM phase of sleep, misses it. Therefore the drugs used are to try and get the person into the REM phase of sleep. They gave me Valium, 2mgs at night to relax me and it seems to be working. Mind you I have Arthritis and Fibro seems to be related.

Any acid reflux pills OTC?

I've been taking Prilosec for about 5yrs now and think that my body has become immune to it or something. To avoid the doctor again, is there something I can get over the counter?
Answer:
I've actually been taking it longer than that. But every time I go to the doctor he asks if I'm still getting by with one a day?
That leads me to believe that you can either build up an immunity or perhaps your body compensates and tries harder to make acid.
Either way, it suspect its not uncommon. I also suspect a higher dosage is sometimes prescribed. Prilosec is OTC.
The other OTC meds I can think of work differently. ie. they dont stop acid from being made, they stop it from hurting somehow.
I think the best thing would be to check with your doctor. That would be the safest way to decide.
Try taking apple cider vinegar-it's effective and cheap!
There are a couple of OTC drugs for heartburn and acid reflux available. Keep in mind though that they are not as strong as prescriptions and you would have more options on the prescription level. There's Pepcid Complete.I think they're several varieties of it on the shelves, Tagament, Ranitadine, and Priolsec OTC. Hopefully one of these will help, but be careful. If they don't, see a doctor. Severe Acid Reflux can cause erosion in your esophagus. I had that happen and had to have a scope down my throat and a tear repaired. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Any 1 had colonicirrigation?

is so did it work and where did u get it done ? were are lokin for some one who has had this done in andover , southanpton area, was it sucessfull ?
heard it good for IBS
Answer:
Yes, and as a practitioner in Complementary and Alternative Medicine I have recommended it for several people who have definitely benefitted.Make sure that you visit a therapist that is both qualified and experienced. There are a small number of associations that register therapists, and this can give you some assurance as regards training and standards. It can be very helpful for IBS, but do consider other approaches, such as herbal, or check out food intolerance and also the bacterial balance in the bowel. An experienced herbal or homoeopathic practitioner should also be able to guide you.Best of luck, and I hope you find the solutions you need.
i had ages ago it wasnt a pleasant experiance, i wouldnt recomend it. xx
OMG Yes!
And yes it works, mine wasn't done in your area, but yeas it really works. I suffered with IBS for about 5 years (constipation all the time), felt and looked like I was 6 months pregnant. but I had it done and since then I haven't had 1 problem and I never get constipated.
Take my advice and get it done, dont worry about the embarrassment, you won't regret it.X
i've not had it but i hear some folk don't like it at all but others will say its no problem and it works
Ive had it a couple times. Really cleans u out. Can be a bit a spasm like pain in your back passage. You definitely feel better afterwards. If u can handle someone sticking the end of a pipe in your bottom and a spasm sucking discomfort then its worth it.
Make sure u go somewhere reputable. Go for it.

Anxiety Sufferers...?

I was wondering..I'm only 17 and my doctor told me that I suffer from anxiety due to recent stress problems such as my dad's death, financial problems, school stress, sleep deprivation, and family problems..within the past year..I started feeling weird things and I was wondering if anyone who has/had anxiety has gone through the same things such as:
muscle spasms, feeling like you're gonna die, fear of a fatal illness, bizarre thoughts that don't make sense when I'm tired, weak/numb/tingling hands and legs, feeling dizzy/wobbly, throbbing head like brain is shaking, difficulty concentrating, blurred/foggy vision, tightness in face To be honest I don't really believe that this is only anxiety, I feel like I have a brain tumor and that scares me more..I dont' even want to go check it out because I'm so scared but I'm going to this summer...I feel like I'm going insane...so I was wondering if anyone felt the same.. Thanks..
Answer:
Well, I don't really feel that way anymore, but I did when I was around ur age.no, older..I was 19, %26 I was going throught lots of stress %26 anxiety...at times I would feel knots in my stomach, pounding headaches, extreme nausea, dizziness, inability to concentrate, death feelings, feeling like my thoughts were going out of control..etc, etc, etc.
I got checked out %26 it turned out that there actually WAS something wrong with me (besides stress), but it was just iron deficiency anemia!! I'm not sure if it was that or the stress which made me feel the way I did.
Anyway, once I started taking the anemia medications %26 my life started getting into order again %26 the causes of stress went away, I was normal again.
The fact is, anxiety %26 stress can cause all that u %26 I mentioned %26 plenty more, for that matter,...esp. in teen years.
But just to put ur mind at ease, have urself checked out to be sure. One never can tell. It might even be something not so serious (as in my case) like a vit. or mineral deficiency or something like that. Besides, ur 17....hormonal changes can add to ur stress too. Hope it's nothing at all. Best of luck.
It sounds like your anxiety attacks are accompanied by panic attacks--by the symptoms you mentioned. There are medications that your doctor can give you for this. Take what he/she gives you for a week or two, and if you're not feeling better--get a thorough exam to check for other problems. You can go to:http://www.about.comand type panic disorder in their search box on the upper right. See how many of your symptoms are listed among the panic disorder symptoms. I hope you feel better really soon--you seem like you've really been through a hard year.
You've been through a lot; I'm sorry for the loss of your dad. When did you discuss this with your doctor? Recently? Did he/she have any suggestions, such as medication and/or counseling? If you told him/her your symptoms, as you describe above, I would hope he would 'do' something (suggest, refer you to counseling and/or possible medication; there are lots of good anti-anxiety medications available today) No doubt you have some anxiety issues, but probably some depression issues, too. Both of which, can manifest themselves in physical symptoms.I suspect you are jumping to conclusions about a 'possible' brain tumor, which will only 'fuel' your anxiety all the more. Try not to 'create' imaginary diagnosis es.Some other things to consider; have you had your eyes examined recently? Most people don't get their eyes examined enough...which could possibly contribute to some of your symptoms.Find someone you can discuss your life-issues with; a trusted adult, pastor, school counselor, public health mental health-care professional. Don't try to manage everything that's going on in your life alone.Take care. Remember to wear your seat-belt when driving.
This is how I explain my anxiety issues to others: I knew I had a problem when I worried all the time. Everyone worries but I'm not able to get over it, and thus I build more worries. It's normal to be feeling what you're feeling; you have a lot of stress in your life which can really take a toll on you. However, I have found that not managing my anxiety sooner has only made things worse. To reduce anxiety, try exercising, or finding something that clams you. If it is a true anxiety disorder, this will only make you feel better for a short while. Talk to your doctor about getting on a medication like Zoloft. Good luck!
Yes, unfortunately anxiety can be so severe that it can cause all of those physical symptoms that you describe. Stress can have a tremendous effect on the body. You still need to get checked out as a precaution over the summer to make you feel better and calm things down. I wanted an explanation as to "why" and "how" all of these things could possibly be going on with me when they first started. I had a lot of those symptoms and was finally given the medication Topomax. It has helped tremendously with the numbness and tingling an the feelings in the face that you have described and has helped a lot especially with the concentration difficulties that the other anxiety medications that I have been on have not helped. You may want to ask your Dr. about that. I hope you begin to feel better. All in all therapy has done more good than anything else but the medications have helped until the therapy could really begin to help. I am sorry you have been going through so much. I wish you the best~
Oh my God. I've had anxiety but on a totally different level that yours. You are so young to loose your father, and no matter what age technically that is a VERY traumatic event to go through. You're probably thinking you are next or something, and it's normal. My husband's father died of lung cancer in July of 2000 at age 52. My husband at the time was only 27, and he is still affected by it. He is currently on meds, which sometimes helps but not always.I don't think you have anything wrong with you besides your mixed-up emotions, and I am deeply sorry about your dad.I think you are suffering from major anxiety, and you need to talk to your doctor about it. If I were you, I would definitely get a counselor to talk about the other stuff. I bet you either haven't let yourself or people aren't really allowing you to deal with your father's passing because you don't want to seem "not normal". Look up a hot-line if you need to, because you can either deal now or deal later when you do something to hurt yourself (or someone else).Email me if you like. I might ramble on here, but if you need someone to just "hear" (metaphorically speaking) you out I can "listen".
Here is a simple method to help possibly solve some of your problems.Take a good multiple vitamin morning and night to make sure your body is receiving ABSLUTELY EVERY vitamin and mineral it needs. And eat well balanced meals. Your muscles and organs will not work well without vitamins and minerals.I was a sick and horrible mess until about 10 months ago and this has made a major difference for me. Our bodies require and balance of all of the correct vitamins and minerals to function properly. This is an easy and simple start. You may not believe this BUT, STRESS CAN MAKE YOU SICK. 8 years ago as I was caring for 3 dying parents, I developed heart palpitations, chest pain etc. But once the stress was over the heart symptoms were gone. Here is some advice to remember for life and trust me I could be your Grandmother. I am so sorry about your Dads death, but talk to him every day and know he is there watching over you. Be free to let him go when you feel you can. It took 14 months for me to OUT LOUD, tell my Mother goodby. Once I told her I loved her (she knew that) But I had to say goodby and relieve myself of the pain I was carrying around. The weight lifted immediately. You can do this and it will help. For sleep, you can get (from the health food store or the vitamin department at a discount store) MELATONIN. It is a natural hormone to help you sleep. It works great and I have lovely dreams. Not a drugged sleep at all. Change what you can change and do not dwell on what YOU cannot change. You cannot control everything in life, so you just have to accept that the control of some things belongs to other people, not you.God Bless and take care.
Hang in there.I recognize The muscle spasm thing. My wife suffers hugely from that due to anxiety.Dont delay any tests.I think the meds will fix you, it may take time to find the right one.You are not aloneGod Bless.

Anxiety panic after large meals, how to stop it fast?

For yeas whenever I over eat, like on thanksgiving, my heart rate increases to about 100-115 for about two hours. And since I suffer from severe anxiety and panic dosorder, the discomfort and uneasy feeling, following overeating, usually leads to at least anxiety, but often panic attacks. I have been eating small portions for quite some time and doing well. Tonight I just ate five pieces of pizza and the uneasy, panic feelings are coming back. Any way to aleeve this until my food digests? I have some xanax but really hate taking them unless I absolutel have to. Once I take one of those, I need em more often to feel good, so I try and just avoid them all together.
Answer:
It may be that a high amount of carbohydrate intake is a trigger and not the cause of the onset of your panic attacks. After ingestion of a meal rich in carbohydrates, the level of bloodsugar increases dramatically as the pancreas begins working overtime to produce insulin that will break down the sugar to a form that the body can absorb and utilize. Another side-effect is sleepiness. Perhaps, when you begin to feel that way, you get scared because you are accutely aware of your bodily functions, more so than the average person. So that when you notice the change, you respond by fear. When you have a thought of fear, the body intern responds by initiating the "fight or flight" syndrome. Once this occurs, your adrenal glands, responding from a chemical message from the brain, releases a substance called adrenaline which courses through your bloodstream giving you a quick burst of energy, and making you feel hot and cold all over, your pulse begins to race, your palms sweat, your vision feels "funny", you feel a complete sense of fear and your body begins to similate the fear response. Now you have totally begun to feel pure fear. Your minds' perception influences completely how your body will respond. If you think that something is a threat to you, then you will be afraid. If you think that something is pleasant, but stimulating, then you will be happy. So, however you believe that something will be, that's how it will be. Next time you eat a large amount of food, try and visulize the feeling of fullness that you get afterward as a feeling of pleasure instead of fear. Everything will change. Though I really wouldn't reccomend that you make this a habit as you may gain unwanted weight, which has negative effects to the body as well. I struggled with anziety and panic attacks for 14 years, and I'm ok. You will be to!!
eat smaller meals more frequently during the day. make an appointment to discuss your symptoms with your doctor.
i had that problem when i was little.
the doctor gave me a prescription
and a couple days later it went away.

Anxiety Habits?

I have anxiety attacks and I usually rub my nose or bite the inside of my cheek. I'm trying to break these habits but I need something else. Any ideas?
Answer:
The best thing to do is to get at the bottom of what is making you anxious. That said, if you want "something else" that is not visible to other people, you can try what I call "ear clinching." If you are able to clinch the muscles around your ear canals, where it makes that clicking/squishing noise (and reduces ambient noise around you) it is something you can do and or concentrate on, and there are no outward signs of it.
I have the same thing, but just different symptoms. My main problems are shaking and sweating. I always find that reading a book, listening to music, sleeping or doing something to distract myself helps. I also would suggest maybe sucking on a lollipop or ice cube/popsicle so you can't bite your cheek. Just distract yourself with something you love to do. It always helps me.

Anxiety attacks.. help?

wat happens when you have an anxiety attack, and how do u
prevent this?
Answer:
omg i just had one the other day. what happens to me is something in my daily life triggers me to freak out over something repressed that i'm trying not to think about. usually i don't even know what it is unless i make an effort to think it through. and, it's like i zone out %26 can't really understand what's happening around me..can't really focus on anything, can't speak, i start getting really nauseous and it gets even worse in public cuz i start to think about how everyone must think i'm such a wackooo. lol. you know the only thing that has ever helped me is imagining all your anxiety about something float out of your mind and into an imaginary balloon u are holding, and then imagine letting go of it and it floating up into the sky away from you. it really feels like that heavy/smothering anxiety-feeling is being lifted off of you. but if it's too late and i already have one, i try to figure out why it happened... it really helps me cuz it makes me feel like i have control over the situation.
Sweaty palms, racing heart, feeling like you're going to die.Prevent it by calming yourself down.
An anxiety attack is your body's reaction to an unknown fear. You can have heart palpitations, choking sensation in the throat, sweat, feel like you are going crazy.
If your attacks are severe you need to see a physician, otherwise there are books out there you can read to help. One of the better books is called "When Panic Attacks" and is by David D. Burns, M.D. Good luck.
my sister has been suffering from panic and anxiety attacks almost all of her life until she found a website on the net that has really helped her to the point her panic attacks have pretty much gone the change in her is pretty amazing she is a totally different
person now if you want the website address its at http://urlcut.com/stopanicattacks... hope this helps

Ants gather around my urine...Am i diabetic?

I was a little paranoid about being diabetic since my grandmother died from it so i did a little test. I urinated on a container and then left it outside for a bit and when i came back the container was full of ants even after i rinced the container (without soap) the ants kept coming back to it. Am i diabetic?
Answer:
I do not know if you are diabetic. Ants being attracted to urine is not a legitimate test for diabetes anyway. If you wanted a quick check before going to the doctor, you can buy urine test strips in any drugstore. You pee on the strip and in 15 seconds it will change color (there is a chart on the bottle of strips). Of course, don't do this right after you eat or it will look like you are diabetic.First of all, are you having any symptoms - thirsty all the time or having to go pee a lot more than you normally did? These are the 2 biggest symptoms of diabetes. Even if you do not have these symptoms, you are obviously worried about it. So, I strongly suggest you go and see a doctor. It's pretty easy. There's a test called an A1C test. They do a blood test and it will show how your glucose (sugar) levels have been doing over the past 3 months. If you want to know really fast if it's possible, they can do a test where you come in early, (you don't eat or drink anything before you go in). They give you a small amount of sweet syrup to drink. They then test your blood after 1 hour, after 2 hours, and after 3 hours. This will show them right there how well your body is breaking down the glucose. If you fail that test, they will also do the A1C test, to be positive.Try not to be scared. It's not like it used to be. Diabetes can be easily managed, and you can live a normal life, as long as you check your numbers during the day and take whatever meds the docs give you. Besides, you may not have it at all. I know it's scary when we lose someone we love, and it can make us worry that we have it too. I'm sorry you lost your grandmother, but try not to worry too much - and to reassure yourself, be sure by letting a doctor tell you that you don't have it. Good luck.
gross. sorry.
Seems like there is some sugar in your urine. Go to a doctor and get tested.
That is the weirdest test I have ever heard of!
The only way you will know is if you do the tests in your doctors office.
ummm. (o.0)
The only reliable way to know if you are diabetic is to measure your blood glucose (sugar) content. Your doctor can help you do this.
There is no way to know if you don't ask the doc to test you. Just because the ants liked your urine doesn't mean anything.
lol ur nasty. that test is gross, just go to the doctor, their test are more hygenic
No your a crack addict which would make that not at all disgusting. No more needs to be said right now.
I have never heard of that to test for diabetes. If you are concerned go to your doctor and they can do a blood test to check for diabetes.
Ants do like sugar so it is possible.
well, I'm thinking that ants will probably gather on anything with moisture...but just because your grandma died with diabetes doesn't mean you will get diabetes especially if you take precautions...and watch your health...the best thing to do is go to a doctor and tell them your concerns and that diabetes runs in your family...they will know what to do...good luck.
No, the ants are thirsty!!If you are really concerned about diabetes, have your doctor order a blood test for fasting glucose.
No, this means nothing.
I wants saw ants COVER a urine soaked carpet after a child had an accident, even after it was cleaned up. The child did not have diabetes. The ants just like the moisture.
Your 'test' might sound gross to some people, but that is exactly one of the methods that was used, many many years ago if a person was suspected to have high blood sugar.
If your spilling that much sugar in your urine chances are you might be. Get to your doctor and be t4ested.
yes may be,so you must consult your doctor immediately. i hope if you visit this site you can get good answers about that

Anti-smoking Inhalers?

does anyone know about the smokless inhalers that contain nicotine, where you would purchase them? are they perscription only i dont have insurance but i am interested in the idea. Thanks!!
Answer:
They aren't prescription, you can get them over the counter. I've used them, they made me kind of sick to my stomach and made my mouth tingle, but I suppose they're as good as the gum. They might be behind the counter at your pharmacy because you must be legal age to purchase them.

Antibody mediated immune response?

I need the pathways in a antibody mediated immune response, ie what happens in each stage of the activation of b cell from antigen and antibody bonding until circulating antibodies attack bacteria with antigen

Way, way, way too complicated for an answer here. Anything given would be dramatically watered down. If you really want to know, go to:www.pubmed.comclick 'books' on the far right, read chapter 9 of Immunobiology by Janeway and Travers.

Antibiotics and ear syringing?

My partner is on anibiotics because he has a strange pain down his sid (just under the arm pit)He is meant to get his ears syringed today. Is there a risk of a reaction if he does get his ears syringed and still on the course?
Answer:
You have not explained why he is on antibiotics in the first place!
Assuming it is nothing to do with his ears, I doubt there can be an link however and he can keep his appointment.
Never heard of such a problem. Tell him to ask the nurse to be 100% sure.
I cant see why but tell the doctor before just in case.
Taking antibiotics will not have any effect or reaction with regard to his ears being syringed. If he is taking antibiotics then he has an infection and depending on which antibiotic that is, it may actually help prevent ear infection if he is at risk of getting it.

Antibiotics 3 7-day courses in 3 months!!?

HiI have just been described my third course of 7-day Amoxicillan in 3 months. Which is for a Ear infection and flu I can shift.Im really worried that I have been taken so many lately that that my body will become immune and they will not help anymore?
Can this happen? Im a 22yr old female and Im not usually sick but have been hit with ear trouble since March. Will all these antibiotics been ruining my immune system. What effect will they be having on my liver?Im really concerence at how many Ive been subscribed in such a short period of time.any advice??
Answer:
While it's true that their are some strains of antibiotic resistant organism, you aren't taking enough to cause a problem. Complete you course, as not finishing the meds is one of the main reasons that resistance is a problem. Also antibiotics aren't trashing your immune system, they are simply assisting it to kill the infection.
Taking lots of antibiotics (and taking them improperly -- not finishing a course for example or skipping doses) can breed resistent bacteria which can be dangerous. One of the best things you can do for your body is to taken a proven, effective immune booster to get your system working on its own to fight off germs and illness. My family takes Immune Alert and loves it. It's made from an all-natural baker's yeast extract (beta glucan) that gets your immune system working better and faster. Because Immune Alert merely primes the individual parts of the immune system to work better and does not directly act on any bacteria, you don't have to worry about creating resistent organisms.Go to www.immunealert.com and get a free trial now!! I think you'll be happy that you did.
keep up wit ur doses, finish the whole course and if u want to be extra careful take a multi vitamin. taking all of those anti biotics isnt dangerous for you or ur immunity or ur doctor wouldnt have given them to you!! u shouldnt have many symptoms sometimes ppl get headaches and a bit of nausea but thats normal. also taking a long course of anti biotics can cause vaginal thrush. dont panic!! if your one of those ppl its easily treated just visit your pharmacist or doctor for more advice.

Antibiotic Diarrhea--and UC?

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis over a year ago, I've been on meds and its give me no problems. Last week, I went in for a Ear infection and was perscribed a Antibiotic. However after two days I got diarrhea...then my diarrhea got worse and today i'm having bloody stools. Does this mean my UC is coming back?
Answer:
call your gastroenterologist right away. Upsetting the microbial balance in your colon can sometimes result in a flare. It's possible that you may need to move up to something higher than your maintenance meds. If you are just taking Asacol, you may need corticosteroids, at least until the flare fades.
Either that or the less likely pseudomembranous colitis, but you certainly want to start treatment (for both possibilities) quickly, and to plan a really pleasant day, keep in mind that your doctor will want a stool specimen.
If you are passing blood you need to get urgent medical attention.

Anti depressents?

what would happen if you took 17 anti depressents?
Answer:
Depends on what kind of antidepressant it is. Assuming it's an SSRI you could have possible serotonin syndrome. Don't do it.
uh depends on what you took. If i was you I would stop taking the pills and exorcise or eat bananas, call a friend, go for a walk something like that
I wouldn't try it. I used to be on those things. The side effects of anti depressants are terrible! I felt awful!!!
Hi,
Do you mean if you took 17 anti-depressants all at once?
If you mean this, then please get help from your doctor, your family, your friends ,the Bible, psalms of King David, even he suffered from severe depression as did the apostle Paul.
Please do not do this,Do not try to hide your true feelings from others. No one knows until you confide in them.SHOUT IT OUT! I FEEL AWFUL! Get it out of your system.

Answers needed about brain leasons?

My sister has white brain leasons and an Angioma in the temporal lobe. Mostly this causes severe migraines but her symptoms seem to be increasing... she was in the ER again last night with a Migraine induced seizure. Florida Hospital Saxon refused to do an MRI before sending her home to see if the Angioma was bleeding but they did a CAT SCAN. Can anyone give me more info about this subject? and what they may have been hoping to see on a CAT SCAN instead of an MRI?
Answer:
Acute bleeding is picked up much better on a Cat Scan, MRI is better for picking up lesions and after effects of a bleed.

Answer this quetion fast please! get rid of acne!?

i just "broke out" arond my nose and i have graduation this friday. how do i get rid of them without buying something!
Answer:
hi this is what i did when i had the same problem. wash you face with soap and water. then use alcohol to dry them out then use preparation H it shrinks the swelling and the redness. congrats and good luck
without buying something? by waiting. Don't overwash because it will irritate your skin even more and look worse. and don't use toothpaste thats not a good idea esp cinnamon flavors! pimples are caused by hormones so it isn't the fried food. You just have to wait it out, also you may want to change your sheets/pillowcases just to help keep your pores cleaner.
Try this, run a towel under really hot water, than rub it on your acne spots. This will open your pores and make your skin soft. Then squeeze the goo out. If you can't get anything out, STOP! It'll irritate your skin. I know, even if your a guy, maybe put a little bit of concealer, you know makeup. JUST FOR THE PICTURES. I hope this helps you. Congrats on graduating.
you kinda need to buy stuff if you want it to go away fast but scrub it with soupe and with water. I use clearisel
An excellent remedy for pimples or acne-prone skin can be made by mixing 1 teaspoon ground cloves with 2 tablespoons fullers earth and ice water. When you wash your face, use sugar to scrub it, at least once a day, for two weeks to rid yourself of acne. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/... for more useful info.

Another Lupus question.?

I am 24 yrs. old, just went back to my dr. after having been tested for Lupus. She said that my bloodwork looked ok, not great but ok. I have 6 of the 11 criteria for Lupus and tons of symptoms. My dr. said that she was going to let my chart say +ANA and not lupus, because of insurance reasons (fear of having them drop me, or difficulty getting other insurance due to pre-exi. condition), but that she thought that I do have lupus based on my symptoms. She prescribed me Plaquenil. I just wonder if she was doing this as a favor, or is she really just trying to passify me?Also, does anyone know of any good support groups/websites that I can use?
Answer:
Hi Im Chris, One of the owners of Lupus Autoimmune Sisters. We cover all Autoimmunes, However I am the owner with Lupus, and does the research for Lupus. I started with symptoms of Lupus at 14. Full blown by 27. Im now almost 40. I too meet 6 of 11 critera. About your Dr. She did exactly what my Doctor did for the first two years. She put me on plaquinil (an antimalarial) hoping to suppress your immune system a bit, and help nif you suffer joint pain. She is doing the right thing, though even if an insurance company (not an employer, they can not deny a spouse or sufferer based on a preexisiting condition, your rates may be higher then other employees) sees possible SLE (LUPUS) they if you try getting private insurance can and probablly will turn you down. and if you lie, they will drop you. But your Doctor is waiting to see if the SLE progresses, or disables you. If it does, She will put it, so if you can't work she can help you get Social security Disability if you need it at some time. After 2 years on SSDI you are automatically eligible for medicare in most states. I live in CA. And got medicare a federal insurance 2 years to the day of Recieveing SSDI Benifits
http://www.lupus.org/support/groups.html... go to this site and you can locate a chapter close to you. My aunt has lupus and she's heard the same things so I really do think the doctor is trying to help you because Insurance companies only care about money, they can be vicious. You keep ya head up sweetheart and I'll be praying for you
If you have clinical and the physical signs of lupus, such as joint pains, swelling andrash, then the ANA is confirmatory. if you are being given Plaquenil then you are being treated not placated. Generally associated with the +ANA are several other tests for antibodies, called autoantibodies. these help confirm the diagnosis, provide prognosis and may give information for your doctor to monitor your condition. Regarding the insurance issue. Be very careful. firstly, a review of your recordsby an insurance agent will find a +ANA and a treatment. this will raise red flags. also if you are found to have a disease that was present at the time you apply and it is not reported, you maybedenied payment later. I agree that your doctor is trying to do you a favor, but , it maynot be worth it. good luck. By the wayis your doctor a rheumatologist? if not you may want to consult one and get his/her perspective.
as for support group you can contact the Arthritis Foundation and the Lupus Foundation
I believe most patients diagnosed with lupus goes through the same "false-positive" test results before the Dr. will give a definite diagnosis. I understand the Drs. cannot until the tests prove it for sure. I am sure she wants to protect you from being labeled with a disease before it is definite.I spent years without a definite diagnosis. My advice is to continute regular checks with your dr so she can monitor your kidney function, just in case Lupus goes there. Many people give up and quit going to drs when it doesn't seem to do any good. Don't do this as this disease can attack your body without any outward symptoms. Stay in close touch with your dr. My wishes are that you don't have Lupus. I still advise that you let your dr. keep a close watch over you no matter how frustrating and puzzling it becomes.

Anorexic??

okay so im writing a paper for health class on the disease anorexia nervosa and the point is to get in the shoes of an anorexic but i hv some questions.. if anyone could please answer them ??1.) how do you know if sumones anorexic or just skinny??2.) doesnt starving urself slow down ur metabolism? does that make u gain more weight??3.) woudnt the hunger pains be to much to handle?? how would they suppres them?/4.) how much weight do they lose in a week if they olny eat 500 calories or less per day?5.) even when they are really skinny do they see them selfs as fat or do they hv no self control?
please and thank you
sry if im a bad speller
Answer:
There was a girl on a television show called Growing Pains. Her name is Tracey Gold. She was a child actress and she started to get chunky. The producers told her she had to lose weight or she was going to get fired. She ended up becoming an anorexic. She also made a very good TV movie about a girl with anorexia, "For the Love of Nancy". She wrote an autobiography that you might find at the library.1: You really can't know.2: Yes, it does slow down the metabolism.3: No, the hunger pain becomes re-framed to become a positive and anorexics actually feel better hungry then they do full. Eating actually makes them feel bad or in pain. Sounds strange, but, that is about how it works.4: that depends on the person, their height weight, age and activity level. A person who needs 1500 calories a day and only receives 500 will lose 1000 calories a day. There are 4000 calories in a pound of fat.5: Yes, they often feel fat even when they are not sometimes because the stomach becomes distended slightly from starvation.
1) Anorexia is an eating disorder where people starve themselves. Anorexia usually begins in young people around the onset of puberty. Individuals suffering from anorexia have extreme weight loss. Weight loss is usually 15% below the person's normal body weight. People suffering from anorexia are very skinny but are convinced that they are overweight. Weight loss is obtained by many ways. Some of the common techniques used are excessive exercise, intake of laxatives and not eating. Anorexics have an intense fear of becoming fat. Their dieting habits develop from this fear. Anorexia mainly affects adolescent girls.People with anorexia continue to think they are overweight even after they become extremely thin, are very ill or near death. Often they will develop strange eating habits such as refusing to eat in front of other people. Sometimes the individuals will prepare big meals for others while refusing to eat any of it.The disorder is thought to be most common among people of higher socioeconomic classes and people involved in activities where thinness is especially looked upon, such as dancing, theater, and distance running. 2) Yes, starving yourself does slow down your metabolism, but these people don't eat enough to maintain their weight, let alone gain any.3) You only have hunger pains for the first day. After that, you get a euphoric "high". It's an accomplishment to go without food for anorexics.4) It depends on how much activity they are doing.5) Anorexia is a mental illness, really. They continue to see themselves as fat even though they are deathly skinny. It a form of body dismorophic disorder. When asked to draw themselves, these people usually draw themselves fat
Thank God I'm not anorexic, but I know someone who is.
By the way, there was this amazing documentary on HBO about this same issue (can't remember the name- sorry!) You might find great interest in it.1) It is hard to tell if someone is anorexic or just slim, but you can tell by their eating habits, and their previous weight.
so eating habits/ weight loss2) Starving yourself makes you lose metabolism, but when you are intaking close to nothing, there is nothing to metabolize.3) Hunger pains are horrible to watch, many people with anorexic suppress them by chewing gum, because it gives them the false sense that they are eating.4) no idea, sorry!5) Most people with eating disorders have mental issues as well, so they do not understand that they are not fat. Sometimes they see their weight as the only thing that they can control!
1) If their anorexic they over excersice and tend to not eat .2)Well anorexics just excercise more than they should so they lose weight more rapidly no matter their metabolism3)They probably take antaacids and painkillers4)probably 10-15 llbs a week5) When u look in the mirror u see ur reflection but when they look into the mirror they see the same thing you see but they look anorexic in real life.
1. anorexics have pale and greyish skin, and tangly hair that is very thin, extremely thin ones will have 'down' hair which is there to keep their bodies warm2. at the begining it can, but your body starts breaking tissues, and muscles and fat and you start losing weight 3. well, they just see themselves as like 3049790327842 pounds, so they dont think they deserve food, many have destroyed their relationship with food, seeing it as disgusting and gross, others will distract themselves4. that depends on the person.and how much they exercise and weigh. probably like 3 or 4 pounds, and if it was no food they could lose 5-7 pounds5. yea, most still see themselves as obese or fat even when they are skinny
I'm used to the bad spellers by now.
My ex wife was anorexic for a couple of decades. She said that when she was hungry, she 'pretended' that she wasn't. I can't understand that (I love food), but I believe her.
She masked it by complaining all the time about indigestion. Everything gave her indigestion except for rice cakes, and she would only eat about 6 of those a day. She also made herself vomit a lot, which irritated her esophagus, which gave her heartburn. Later the indigestion turned into gas pains. Everything gave her gas, even water. No medications worked, so she spent hours every day in various yoga postures trying to expel all the gas.
Starving yourself does slow down your metabolism, but it doesn't defeat such a poor diet.
There are objective standards to measure the difference between skinniness and anorexia. Also, you can see it when the anorexic is nude - something they usually avoid. My ex-wife got down to 75 lbs. At 5'2", she looked like a concentration camp victim.
Anorexia is serious enough to be classified as something of a psychosis. The delusion that "I'm too fat" survives in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, such as looking in a mirror, the readings on a scale, and the agonized pleas of family and spouses.
As for weight loss on a weekly basis, this would vary from one individual to another, as taller people burn more calories than shorter people do.
Feminists like to blame it all on the media. My wife became anorexic in the absence of television and magazines - the only media we had was radio, and you can't get bombarded with images of overly skinny models by radio. It would be more fruitful to look at brain structure and brain function.
1) someone is anorexic if their weight decreases dramatically, if someone is skinny, then they've always been skinny. 2) straving yourself does slow metabolism, it does makes you gain weight but in a unhealthy way. like your body is "unbalanced". and anorexic would gain weigh except they dont eat anythign which is not possible for them to gain weigh due to their unhealthy metabolism. 3) hunger pain is hard to handle. but we can all stand it it if we wanted to. an average person's will can take the hunger pain. hunger pain will go away eventually, even without eating. 4) umm not sure, probably like 9 or 10 pounds?5) probably a self-esteem thing. friends or family might make them feel like their fat/ Media have skinny celebs
hope that helps!! i know somethings i said are hard to understand :P bare with me lol

Anorexia??

how long does it take to start noticing physical changes in your body when you stop eating?
Answer:
not eating is not as bad as not drinking. just make sure to drink lots of water... and when you do begin eating again, make sure you eat little by little...too much and you can really hurt yourself.. as for how long, you'll know.
maybe a week? but you lose a pound of two after 3 days or so.
Almost immediately with me. I experience heart palpitations after going 16 hours without food. Most people will quickly experience difficulty concentrating, weakness and fatigue. The long term effects are critical and numerous. Some damage caused by anorexia is permanent. Anorexics experience a shorter life span than healthy people.
That depends on the individual and what your body is used to before you begin restricting.Your brain and body will react and respond negatively right away though - even if you aren't aware of it. Perhaps viewing pictures of the Holocaust and being reminded that life and the ability to sustain it is both a gift and a blessing would be helpful.
youre cute.msg me on AIM?

Anorexia?.?

Ok, I'm really confused, my doctor said that i have anorexia and I'm not skinny. Yes, I have been starving myself and I'm going to see a lot of different doctors. but can anyone tell me about this? I'm scared and confused.
Answer:
You don't THINK your skinny...and it's the anorexia that is distorting your body image...others may find you to be quite thin...but to yourself in the mirror..you don't see it...
That is classic anorexic...
PLEASE get help for this order.I hope and pray you will not need "in-patient" treatment and can be helped with your Dr and therapy...
You can't change what you don't acknowledge...admitting it is half the battle...now, go win the war!!
ok if your starving yourself then yes thats anerexia and it doesnt matter if your skinny or obese... if you want to be skinny eat healthy foods and exercise trust me
anorexia is very bad for you because this can cause you to not gain weight when you eat or that you can be very sick every time you eat or can hold food in your stomach
You don't have to be skinny to have anorexia nervosa, it's the eating disorder that you have which then makes you lose weight and it can affect your body very badly as well. Good luck !
Well i guess it can be anerxoic. But sometimes it can be bulimia to. I always thought they diagnosed aneroxics if there 20 pounds under wieght. Well try to go to some therepists and support groups etc. Just try to eat.
well look anorexia i don't know much about but i have a promable that when i eat evrything comes up and use to i would still my finger down my throat and make myself sick but now i eat right and go to the gym and when i can't go to the gym i go walking in the park or something like that four atleast 30mins. a day.
yes, could be bulimia too. bulimics starve themselves as well, and binge and purge in various ways. you're scared of what the doctor says or the fact that you're starving yourself because that's scarier.
Yes...starving yourself is anorexia, no matter wether you're thin or obese. It's a bad thing to have because if not treated, the lack of food could cause anemia, fainting, osteoporosis, hair falling out, periods stopping, infertility, kidney failure, heart failure, constipation and more.
Not trying to scare you but just giving you some info on the effects.
Good Luck with hopefully a good recovery : )

Anorexia or something else?

I'm not sure exactly what Anorexia is. Does it have to be deliberate starvation? Because I never feel hungry, sometimes to the point where I can go a day without eating and just not notice until I stand up and almost pass out. Basically I forget to eat. Is this anorexia? Some other eating disorder? Or just wierd?
Answer:
Hi there,I would recommend a checkup with your medical doctor to check things out and be sure everything is ok. Going without eating for a day is not normal, and can be harmful. In terms of diagnostic criteria, DSM criteria for anorexia nervosa is as follows:-Refusal to maintain a body weight that is at or above the minimal normal weight for age and height (below 85% IBW)
-Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though the person is underweight
-Denying the seriousness of having a low body weight, or having a distorted image of one's appearance or shape
-In women who've started having periods, the absence of a period for at least three consecutive menstrual cyclesIn case you need it, here is a link to a eating disorders treatment finder:
http://www.something-fishy.org/treatment...Good luck to you!
Not anorexia!! You just forget about food your not obsessed about not eating it

Anorexia nervosa?

My twevele year old neice might have Anorexia nervosa. But im not sure. She is very skinny i can wrap my pointer finger and thumb around her wrist. She is tall.Last time i checked she was 5'3.She eats normaly and some days she eats a little.Sadly she doesn't really gain weight. She is around 95-86 pounnds. Her mom took her to the doctors she says he is fine. But i don't think so.What do you think?
Answer:
I m reading a book on this subject though i m far from anorexia.she IS prime age for this disorder. If your gut "tells" u something is wrong, then their probably is...Sit down w/ her auntie to niece %26 simply LISTEN to what's eating her.
I m touched by your concern. The BEST way to see the telltale signs: is meal time "stressful" for her?= She makes excuses y she does not want to eat, or can not consume what is on her plate/trouble eating a sandwich or repulsed by food smells...
Get Involved!!
Um u can wrap your pointer finger and thumb aorund my wrist she probably just has a fast metabolism
A healthy BMI for a girl this age is between 15.1 and 22.1.
I calculated a 12 yr old girl at 90lbs 5'3" and her BMI would be 15.9 in this scenario. You can play around with this BMI calculator at the link below:
Yeah she do.This is how u can take it away.
eat seven cups of salt
eat cow fat
Eat a toe nail
and apple and she should be a bit thicker
I have a sister whom is also very skinny but she eats very well so you should make sure that this is your nieces case and also make sure that she is keeping all the food and not throwing up. Pay attenntion to little details and ask her if she alright , but renmember that some girls there age are always active so they digest food faster and there for gain little or no weight.

Anorexia HELP!!!?

My niece has just been diagnosed as severly anorexic, any one got genuine ideas on how to help her, we just don't know what to do, she is under her gp now, only genuine answers please, we are very worried for her. thanx
Answer:
Hi there , Sorry too hear about your neice. Anorexia is becoming incresingly common amungst teenage girls. If the anorexia is severe ( this is where its at a stage that its effecting vital organs , heartrate , pulse and there bones ) she will need hospitalisation to restore her physical health. Please understand that this isnt just a diet gone wrong nor a way too get attention or anything similar. Its a genuine FEAR of gaining weight and feeling too fat no matter how thin they actually are. The best thing you can do is work with the doctors and the team of people treating her , her parents and the rest of your family too ensure she feels safe , loved and protected.Good luck and God bless.
Anorexia generally needs to be treated by a team of experienced Health care teams( containing an MD, Nutritionist, and a psychologist,or psychoanalyst. ) Anorexia is very serious, and your neice may need to be hospitalized.
show her how anorexia can affect her and others
you can only help her if she wants to be helped.
Be there for her, don't pressure her, and make sure you (by you I mean her mother really, but I am not downplaying your part in her support - you care and so you are very important to her right now) have good communication with her psych team so that you can all keep on the same action plan of how she is best responding to treatment.
Well...i actually have a friend who was/is about to fall into anorexia...she is very thin..and never eated more han some sweets...when she told us that her doctor had told her to be careful about food...me and all my friends decided to first make her realize that she had a problem...second make her understand and believe that nthere is a cure...that if she really works hard to get out of that illnes she will... third we allways remind her to eat...we allways eat with her at lunch and her parents eat with her at diner... this was 1 or 2 months ago...last weeek she told me that she had progred a lot!! but we still continue with the same method.well...luck...cinderella
Hi really sorry to here about your niece, i have worked with Anorexia people in the past. it has got to be one of the hardest mental health conditions. by forcing her to eat loads wont work but little and often, one of the girls i worked with was put on Fortisips by the doctor and for breakfast she used to have half a weetbix lunch we used to have a very small salad made for her,(tea plate size) and if i remember correctly she didn't eat tea. Sorry Fortisips are a drink with all vitamins in, they come in all flavors and are meant to be not that bad in taste, even if you can get them at least she is getting the vitamins her body needs. Sorry cant help anymore good luck with everything.
the only thing you can do is give her lots of support. don't make her feel like a freak, and don't shout at her when she doesn't eat huge portions just praise her for the little she does eat trying to get her to eat a little bit more each time. when she does eventually does put on weight dont tell her shes put on weight just emphasise that shes looking beautiful because if she hears the dreaded weight word it might make her regress. Try not to be too harsh on her even though I know you'll be in as much pain as she is about this. I can imagine that it terrible to watch someone to go through this. I'm no expert but I was anorexic for quite a few years, not severley but I did have a problem and in a way I still do as you never fully get over it. Becomign vegetarian for me actually encouraged me to eat...but everyones different. Also ask the health care professionals what else you can do.Remember to take care of yourself and her parents at this difficult time as it'll be emotionally draining for you too.I hope she and your family get through this, it'll be really nice for her to her a nice support network around her, shes very lucky.
health professionals will usually prescribe prozac or another similar type of anti depressant for eating disorders!

Anorexia & Women?

How come women and teenagers are more prone to anorexia? I dont want to know anything about how males are effected, I already know that they are 10% of the eating disorder population. However, what things make women more prone to this eating disorder? (Magazines,Movies,Actress')??
Answer:
MEN actually.honestly...
Peer pressure
Media pressure also if a womans mom has body image issues she is more likely to have them as well... men have immage disorders too though some lead to excesive weightlifting etc.
Our society had determined that a very thin women is a sign of beauty. Anyone that has an ounce of body fat on them is considered fat and ugly. Our young girls are bombarded daily on TV, in magazines, in movies, etc. with images of thin women and stories about actresses who appear to have gained a pound or two as being "fat". Its obscene and unfair.
Low self esteem is one root of the problem. To want to look slim to belong. Another is the perception of body image. Those with anorexia tend to get distorted perceptions about body images. Constant bombardment of advertisements do not help either. Fashion magazines portray rail thin models all the time. They send signals that to look good, is to be stick thin.

Annoying Itch?

I have a really annoying itch in the insides of my elbow and knee joints, and more annoyingly, in my crotch, and its driving me crazy, especially in school, kinda ahkward. What should I do?
Answer:
I would see a doctor - it sounds like it may be a yeast infection. They can spread VERY easily. S/he can probably give you some cream to help clear it up. Otherwise it will probably just continue to be annoying.I know you can get over the counter treatments for vaginal yeast infections - I am not sure how well they would work on other parts of the body such as in the crooks of your knees and elbows, which is why I would suggest seeing a doctor.
well the crotch means you are growing up and the others go get a doctor
sounds like eczema, use aquaphor ointment to eucerin cream

Annoying bloody mucus in nose?

For a while now, mucus in my nose has been drying up and and getting joined with small clots of blood(Like what you get after you've had a nosebleed)It's very annoying and it also hurts. Does anybody know what this could be and what I can do to prevent it?Right now, we're in the middle of winter here and it's very cold.
Answer:
not enough moisture in the air
My guess would be low humidity. I find the same thing happening to me once humidity drops below 60%.Humidity is commonly at its lowest in winter, especially with central heating lowering humidity further. I often see humidity as low as 15% in winter. An air humidifier helps me quite a bit.
get a humidifier, and use a saline nose spray-its lack of humidity in the winter air.
stop picking your nose

Anitbiotics fro diverticulitis making me nauseated?

im on cipro and a sulpha drug for diverticulitis. and its making me so nauseated!! i have skipped a dose just to get relief. ive been on it for 6 days and im supposed to take it 10 days. i have been taking it with food,
i am so miserable. and wont be able to reach the dr till tomorrow, will he change to a different antibitoic or is cipro/sulpha the only treatment? if you have had this experience please help
Answer:
You could be allergic to one of the meds that you are taking. I am allergic to sulpha drugs. Check with your doctor because you don't need to keep taking meds when they make you feel this bad. Hope you are better soon.
Ask for something to help with the nausea. I believe they are called anti-emetic.
I have been on six different inter-venous anti-biotic and on my second round of oral antibiotics using Cipro now and metronazole makes me nauseated also, I always eat before. If this treatment doesn't work for me I have to have surgery they already had me scheduled for surgery asked to try anti-biotic therapy first so far working some what waiting for my third cat scan. I am absolutely miserable also, weak, in pain having side effects from meds, and have three other health issues I am also dealing with They have had me on so many different antibiotics I can't remember all the names, the surgeon and my Internal Med Doctor referred me to immunologist he is handling my meds, some the pharmacy couldn't even fill had to send away for so you probably have other Med options but right now I am on the same meds they seem to work supposed to be pretty good just side effects . Good luck get well soon
The microbes that are in your body have toxins in them, so when you take an antibiotic, you kill the microbe causing the toxins to enter your blood stream. This will cause your symptoms to get worse, but after the full 10 days, you will feel a lot better. You made a big mistake by skipping a day. The bacteria can now replicate and change, not good. Continue with the antibiotics I guess.
if it is a tablet cut it into 4 parts and take 1 in he morning with food, 1 at lunch, 1 a dinner and 1 b4 u go to bed w/food. if it is a capsule open it and mix 1/2 of it in some applesauce or whatever else u might want to mix it with and do the other 1/2 later in th day. splitting up the dose gives u smaller amounts and makes it less likely that u will feel bad from it and at the same time u still get it all. and as far as ur dr changing what u r on after 6 days, not likely because u r so close to being finished with them and to start something new would mean to have to take whole new round of them. hope u feel better soon
Drugs are poison---just take an overdose and you'll agree. Does he give you the antibiotics because you have an infection? You need to regenerate your bowels by creating life down there with quality probiotics, natural antifungals and more raw foods and cultured foods. See if eating less sugars decreases symptoms.
ask for some phnergan for your stomach. it will make you sleepy but it does wonders for upset stomachs. under no circumstances should you split or cut your pills up. cipro has a distinct half life and to fight an infection, you need a certain therapuetic blood level. it might make you feel better to half them but you're not getting enough into your system to do anything except make the infection resistant. pills come in capusules and tablet form for a reason. and your dr prescribes them in that strength on a specific schedule for a reason. part of the reason for your upset stomach is that cipro is a very strong drug that kills stomach and intestinal flora which is part of what keeps things running right. chances are that you will might get a case of the runs from cipro and if you do, eat yogurt or ask for a prescription for flora-q. what ever you do, don't skip does or cut back unless you develop a rash or hives and a high fever.. you'll only make your problem worse by strengthening the resistance to the antibiotics. you can go online to davisdrugguide.com and read about your drugs.

Anaplastic astrocytoma- for doctors only, please !!?

my friend jacob is 9 years old and has multiple anaplastic astrocytomas. hhe was diagnosed with them in oct. 2006, has gone thru radiation once and is currently on chemotherapy. what is the percent chance of him living? also- he had brain surgery of some sort but the tumors were wrapped around nerves or something and it was unsuccessful.
Answer:
Anaplastic Astrocytoma accounts for about 10% of all pediatric central nervous system tumors.5year survival for an incomplete romoval will be around 15-20%.If he had a near complete removal of the tumor and Radiation,it could go as high as 40%.Of course these are just statistics and you never know.
Unfortunately it's prognosis is poor.

Analgesics for Fibromyalgia?

Take 40-80 mg codeine combined with 2 aspirins daily in the winter months. Do you think taking Synap Forte every second week will prevent withdrawal. Both is an opiod, so I do not really know.
Answer:
I'm not to sure what you mean by withdrawl? I would be more worried about the flare ups that come with the pain than withdrawl symptoms. I currenlty take 500mg of Loritab about 1 a day along with extra reg medicines of tylenal and ibeprofins. (sorry I mispelled those) The best thing is to ask your doctor or pharmacist. Yes, they are mostly in it for the money these days, but they will know the information. Or look directly on the manufacturer's sites. They should provide that information, or at least allow you a way to ask them questions. Good Luck!!
I take Dyhidrocodiene with Paracetamol but just at night. I used to take them 2 four times a day but have managed to cut right down over time. If you only take them in the winter months you shouldn't experience withdrawal from them.

Anal wart treatment?

in Thailand
Answer:
In case of small warts, they can be removed by freezing (cryosurgery), burning (electrocautery), or laser treatment. Surgery is occasionally used to remove large warts that have not responded to other treatment.
Some doctors use the antiviral drug interferon-alpha, which they inject directly into the warts, to treat warts that have returned after removal by traditional means. The drug is expensive, however, and does not reduce the rate that the genital warts return.
Although treatments can get rid of the warts, they do not get rid of the HPV virus, so warts can recur after treatment. The body's immune system typically clears the virus anywhere from 8 to 13 months, but it occasionally remains in the body for a lifetime. The state of the immune system determines the chances of ridding the virus entirely and can be affected by factors such as HIV infection, certain medications, stress, or illness. There is even some suggestion that effective treatment of the wart may aid the body's immune response
shoulda went to blackpool instead
you will need salt baths treatment as much as you can deal with , good luck silver fox.

Anal tag/hemoroid?

I just want to know can a person have anal tags and hemorrhoids at the same time, if so how can be it be treated i know for hemorrhoids they do this new thing called banding how about the anal tags are they going to do a major surgery on the person because my g/f she has a few down there by the rectum area and she is really scared. do they need to put her to sleep or they are just going to give her a local anesthesia. can you please let me know in details thank you so much from everyone of you...
Answer:
The anal skin tabs or anal skin tags are the same as the skin tags that grows in our armpit, neck, groins, eyelids. The anal skin tags or tabs are shapeless lumps and flaps of skin or flesh found at the anal border. If you have anorectal problems then the anal skin tags are extremely common condition where they are both frequently associated with.
Internal hemorrhids can be surgically treated by banding. This is done by placing a tight rubber band around the base of the hemorrhoid. This usually is not painful. It maybe done at more than one setting. Anesthesia is not usually required.
For bigger external and internal hemorrhoids are treated best when surgically ligated or excised. The veins are cut out sugically. The incision is closed with absorbable sutures ( stitches) which will disappear on their own.
Some hemorrhoids can be injected with special material to shrink them and stop bleeding.
What are anorectal problems that may cause anal skin tags? It is an acute swelling of an external hemorrhoid that is left untreated. This anal skin tags are usually the result of a prior anorectal insult or injury, which has frequently left behind a skin tab, also referred to as a hemorrhoidal tab. The anal skin tab's blood supply from the hemorrhoidal artery above may then give rise to the development of an even larger hemorrhoid. That swollen skin edges as a result of prior rectal surgery may also develop into anal skin tabs. The anal skin tags are also called the sentinel tag or a guard tag. Looking at the pictures of anal skin tags, this is situated at the lower border of an infection or injury, as if it is watching or guarding over. A sentry or sentinel is one that keeps guard - thus the name. Anal fissures and fistula are often associated with secondary changes, which may include a sentinel tag. The proximal end of a fissure or fistula may contain granulation tissue that extrudes, beginning the formation of a sentinel tag or the anal skin tags
The anal skin tag is often first noticed by the patient, as a painless soft protrusion beginning near the opening of the anus. Usually the anal skin tag is painful because it always rubbed and when seated upon is irritating. If the patient as causing pain perceives a skin tag, frequently the physician will find an associated rectal condition, which is the actual cause of the pain.
There is always problem when you will have an anal skin tags like the issue of cleanliness. The fecal debris may become trapped under the anal skin tag upon wiping in one direction. If there is more than one tab, then there is more problem. This will then lead to itching and infection that often develops to make a bad situation worse. The anal skin tabs may indicate the presence of a more serious rectal ailment that needs careful attention. The anal skin tags are generally asymptomatic and often are the remnants of previous inflammatory lesion in the anal area. When tags are symptomatic, as a result of itching, pain, anxiety or hygienic problems, they can be removed, and/or biopsied to confirm their etiology. If anal skin tags are small, local anesthetic is injected, and then the area is excised. Laser has been used successfully to wipe out the anal skin tabs and resurface the anal area to achieve a good cosmetic result. If extensive, anal skin tags surgery may need to be undertaken in the operating room.

Anal tag guestion?

can someone help me to understand what is anal tag and how it is caused and what are the treatments if there is a surgery involvad is it a big one or just a minor. sorry for the spelling i am from Canada
Answer:
The anal tag is just a skin growth that happens usually for no apparent reason. It can probably be snipped off in the docs office. Yes they will freeze the area before they snip, cut or freeze it off.
Anal tag is a piece of skin that grows from friction. Its not a big deal! They just snip it right off. Very minor. Skin tags come from skin folds rubbing together. Alot of over weight people have them on any place there is a extra fold of skin. Not anything to worry about.

Anal itch and burning?

I have been having some itching and burning at times around anal opening. Also I was constipated a month ago and at times when I have a bowel movement there is bright red blood on toilet paper. I havent noticed it in the stool. I have hard time at times and have to strain
Answer:
hemorroids. go to the store and buy cream for that and also try stool softener it will help when you are constipated... try to stay away from bananas because they harden your stool. also use baby wipes to keep the area clean... because it probably has a cut around it that from all the hard straining.
If you found blood you might have a
hemorhoid( its swollen vain near you anus),
It will make it difficult to go. But if you eat more fiber it will cut down the swelling, help you go. As for the iching use preperation H
it works very well
Hemorrhoids. They can be internal or external.

An dark skin Afican american women and i have dark spot on my legs , how do i remove them?

See i have very dry skin and i tend to scratch and over the years my legs have become extremly discolored and have dark spots on them and i want to set them back straight HELP SUMMERS COMMING...
Answer:
I am sorry you have this problem but it is important that you understand that it is very common. Unfortunately, the other thing that is common is for African-American women to get hyperpigmentation as a response to stress. The scratching is stressed your skin, and a burn or acne would probably have similar results. In the areas of the dark spots, your skin has now more melanocytes and/or your melanocytes are making more melanin. What can you do? First of all, you can avoid getting more of these dark spots by not scratching. If you scratch at night, take an over-the-counter antihistamine before you go to bed, that will help. If you do this during the day, try to keep your skin well hydrated so it will not itch, maybe using sea kelp bioferment or something similar. If you still do scratch when your skin is not itchy, you may need some help from a therapist who could help you by teaching you some useful techniques. What about the spots you already have? Avoid the sun and use some skin lightening actives like those I use in our skin brightening cream, for example, white liquorice, glutathione, tetrahydrocurcuminoids, arbutin, melatonin, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, kojic acid dipalmitate, and superoxide dismutase. Please remember that when you are wearing a brilliant smile, nobody notices the minute defects that our skin acquires as we live our life. A smile and kindness will beat any dark spots in your legs!Good luck and best wishesHannah

An all over severe dry skin lotion?

what brands have other people had good luck with for very dry skin? I have had dry ashy looking skin for as long as I can remember. I have been living in a desert city for a few years now and its worse than ever. I do try to drink plenty of water and sometimes even take a spoonful of flaxseed oil. Any suggestions?
Answer:
If your skin is a dry, and you are bothered by it, I suggest you try using Zenmed Sensitive Skin Care System from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the
skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum
results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further
outbreaks.Another product that I think is effective is Autopalm. This
dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now.
(Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.
Here's are some good references:Extermely dry skin

Keep drinking plenty of water (at least 8-10 eight ounce portions daily), avoid hot showers, apply moisturizing cream/lotion (such as Lubriderm, Vaseline Intensive Care, etc) after showering/bathing every day, avoid caffeine and alcohol (diuretic effects cause you to lose water). Also, check the humidity in your home. If low, consider installing a whole house humidifier that attaches to your furnace/AC or buy a smaller unit and place it in your bedroom.
I've always used Mary Kay products. They can get a bit pricey,But its so worth it! I even use the moisterizing makeup,The foundation is awsome! :-) Good luck!
I never had a problem with dry skin until I moved out west. I buy these big containers of foot lotion, the one I like is called Heel Rescue because its cheaper than the others and comes in a bigger bottle. Its a thick cream which seems to work very well. I use it once or twice every day, over my whole body, and always after a shower. A few times a week I also coat my entire body in Aquafor, which is basically just an improved vaseline for dry skin, and put that on before bed and let it soak in overnight.
Try taking the flaxseed oil more regularly too. Or add fish oil capsules and take those every day.
you should try LUBRIDERM its very good and doctor's suggested it. You can get it anywhere walmart, target etc...

Turtle:Have you ever heard of Arbonne? I only ask and suggest this as many people haven't or realize that they are all pure and natural - and people with dry skin (like me) or eczema use the products with success (I have friends who suffer).Contrary to what people do believe - mineral oil based products contain petroleum in it and this is not helpful for your skin. (google petroleum) it actually hardens your skin out - mineral oil, baby oils, vaseline so read some labels.Try taking vitamins a e and c orally and a sea salt shower scrub will help get off the dead skin cells. I love awaken by arbonne but you can make one at home too. Olive oil and kosher salt and some brown sugar -
Palmers Cocoa Butter! Seriously, it is used for exactly what you've been suffering from! Read up on it here

AMO Recall!?

I would like to start off by saying, what is wrong with AMO?!?! This is your second recall and maybe you should NOT be developing contact solution anymore. My Girlfriend is in pain from her eye due to your negligence. Eyes hurt, red eyes, eye pain, puffiness, and discharge. So my question is, how serious is the condition?
Answer:
Is this the second recall on AMO? I thought the last one was ReNu. Anyway, I had a bottle of that stuff and went to the website. (it's on the bottle) There's a 800 number to call. When you call there are a couple different options. One of them was if you were injured...I wasn't so I don't know what happens after that. CALL THEM. Maybe they'll at least cover her medical expenses to get the infection cleared up. Good luck!

Amlodipine (for Hypertension) sideeffect?

My mother is taking hypertension medication for more than 10years. Currently she's taking Amlodipine (Norvacs) 10mg per day. Understand from this website http://www.drugs.com/norvasc/index.html,... one of Norvacs side effect is "swelling of the legs or ankles".And my mom experienced the same thing, especially after going for long trip distance. (Although not to sure whether it's relate to Norvacs or not). She has checked her kidney function and the result was fine. And accroding to her, when her legs /ankle were swelling she would feel uncomfortable. What is your advice?
Answer:
First off, she may need an echocardiogram to see if her heart function is normal -- both systolic and diastolic dysfunction can cause edema (swelling of feet and ankles). Also in addition to kidney tests, liver function can effect edema. However, more likely than not, it is a side effect of the amlodipine. That is a frequent side effect of the amlodipine, a medication that otherwise is great--and effective at lowering blood pressure. If your mother cannot tolerate that side effect, then she may need to either switch to another blood pressure medication, or her doctor may wish to add another agent on top of the amlodipine, if her blood pressure is not controlled. Both ACE-inhibitors and diuretics decrease the amount of swelling caused by amlodipine. So my recommendation is that she see her doctor and tell him/her about the edema if it is bothering her that much. Amlodipine is a great drug, but if someone cannot tolerate it due to the side effect, then it is better to switch to another medication.
